The figures are inspired by the work of Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre, whose collection I experienced at Museo Reina Sofía last summer. The female figure draws from Himalayan Fig Tree, and the male from Drago, both part of his Earth Poem series.
I brought these two figures together and placed them against a wavy green gingham background, adding a playful, contemporary contrast to their softness and symbolism.
